MatayoshiOh, there you are. I'm glad you came.
MatayoshiI don't believe you've met. This is Officer Date.
DateOh, you're Ryuji's friend. But you don't look too reliable.
DateDetective, are you sure we can trust him?
MatayoshiDon't worry. The fact that Hudie chose him says all you need to know.
DateI guess you're right.
DateBut if you get in our way, you're out on your ear! No slacking!
Player(I remember Ryuji saying that Matayoshi is a legendary detective who used to be known as
"Shinjuku Matagi.")
"Shinjuku Matagi.")
Player(He told me what he did to become so famous, but it was pretty long and I forgot.)
Player(I can't believe I'm working with the legendary Shinjuku Matagi. This is going to be interesting!)
Player(Now I need a title for Date. How about...the
"Kabukicho Maverick.")
"Kabukicho Maverick.")
Player(Yeah, that's perfect. I've got a knack for this!)
DateSir, are you sure about this guy? He looks like a bit of a joker.
MatayoshiI guess we'll find out soon enough.
DateIsn't Ryuji coming?
DateYou can't be serious!
Player...!
PlayerNot happy with Hudie's promising new recruit?! Would you rather Ryuji was here instead of me?!
DateHow dare you take that tone with a police officer?!
DateAs soon as Hudie realizes how useless you are, they'll throw you out in the garbage along with the stale hamburger buns!
MatayoshiCut it out, you two! The suspect's arrived.
Player...!
Player(That thing again...)
Player(But what's it doing in Shinjuku? I thought it appeared in Ikebukuro?)
MatayoshiWhat's the matter?
MatayoshiWhat? Something like that chased you around Ikebukuro?
MatayoshiThat's not what our intelligence said.
Player???
MatayoshiAccording to what we heard, it just stands completely still all day long.
MatayoshiIt doesn't do anything. It's as if it's just killing time in Shinjuku.
MatayoshiAs I said, it's like a statue.
MatayoshiIt doesn't seem to pose a threat at present. Maybe this isn't a police matter?
DateOf course it is! It must be up to something!
DateA drug dealer, a lookout, a spy...! It could be anything!
PlayerYou might be right. It's just a promotional character.
DateCan't you keep your big nose out of anything?!
DateA promotional character? No way.
DateSee that look in its eyes? It's no amateur...
DateWhat are you looking at me for? You think you know better than a police officer?! If you wanna get arrested so badly, I can make that happen!
MatayoshiGive it a rest! Are you trying to draw attention to us?!
DateSorry, Detective Matayoshi...
MatayoshiSo...what now?
Matayoshi...
MatayoshiHey, you two. Time to get to work.
MatayoshiInvestigate the suspect, but don't touch it.
MatayoshiIf it is the same as the one in Ikebukuro, something has to make it react.
MatayoshiGot it? Calm and casual. Just act natural.
DateUnderstood! Calm and casual! Calm and casual!
DateHey! I can see what you're thinking! But say one word and I'll make you regret it!
