Chapter 5: The Search Continues (Yuuko) 11

KyokoHow are things going?

KyokoI believe my assistant was in the middle of an operation when I noticed the connection link drop.

YuukoYes. There's nothing out of the ordinary here. Everything's still going according to plan.

KyokoHmm. Those are some impressive skills.

YuukoYes. I was a bit surprised, myself.

YuukoTo see how adept Player has gotten at using Digimon programs.

KyokoNo. I'm talking about you, Yuuko Kamishiro.

KyokoThe way you arranged the tour of the office, and the way you've been responding to everything. You're quite good at thinking on your feet.

KyokoI'd say you're an old hat at this sort of thing. Just who are you, exactly?

YuukoI don't know what to say...

YuukoI'm just... me. I don't know who else I am supposed to be.

KyokoHmm...

YuukoWas there something else?

KyokoUh-oh! We've been made!

YuukoWh-What was that just now?

KyokoWe could be in trouble. Seems our conversation is being eavesdropped on.

YuukoWhat?!

KyokoIn all likelihood, someone has placed a wiretap program on your Digivice in the real world.

KyokoI should have noticed it sooner. It takes some real skill to finagle this specific a frequency.

KyokoHmph. Whoever's doing this knows their stuff.

YuukoEavesdropping? But that means...

KyokoYeah. I hate to make this call, but you need to pull out of there ASAP. Consider it a valiant retreat of sorts.

KyokoSlow and steady wins the race. This line of work requires a patient and diligent disposition.

YuukoBut Player is still inside!

KyokoYes. I doubt it'll be easy to get the 'abort mission' order through.

KyokoBut Player is my assistant, and should be able to figure something out.

YuukoBut that's--

KyokoYou're not in a position to worry about anyone else right now. Hurry up and get out of there.

KyokoI'll wait for whatever caused my assistant's little vanishing act to wear off.

KyokoOn your way out, it should be possible to cover your tracks and employ some misdirection from the outside.

KyokoIt's too risky to keep this conversation going. I'm going to cut the line.
