Chapter 10: To the Promised Land 16

KishibeOh my, you're awake? Welcome home, Yuuko!

YuukoM-Miss Rie?!

YuukoYou were controlling those monsters? Then that means... every EDEN Syndrome case has been because you...

KishibeOh, no. I wasn't doing it all from the very beginning.

KishibeBut I was fascinated by the existence of the Eaters. I knew there was a way to control them if only I looked hard enough!

KishibeThe experiments were a big success! All that's left to do is to tear down the world's walls!

KishibeAnd to do that, I'll need your mental data... Your memories.

KishibeWork with me just a little bit longer, dear Yuuko!

Kishibe!!! Oh my. It's you.

KishibeLooks like your annoying little friend followed you back.

KishibeThat ability of yours is getting to be a tad bit bothersome. Would you mind getting out my hair?!

KishibeThere, now that that nuisance is out of the way...

YuukoMiss Rie!

KishibeNow, now, you mustn't move! You have to relax for your first time, remember?

KishibeWhat's great about this terminal is that not only can I log into EDEN with any avatar I want...

KishibeIt creates the personality, and imports it as memories into the Digital World.

KishibeDid you not catch on, dear Yuuko?

KishibeYou thought you were the real Yuugo when you were logged in as Yuugo? But no. I created that personality.

YuukoN-No. That was of my own free will...

KishibeYour own *free will*? There's hardly any of that left.

KishibeIf your free will was in charge, you'd never have taken part in that farce to fool all those hackers.

YuukoTo fool... the hackers? I did that... to those hackers?

KishibeHee hee! In other words, this terminal can spoof your memories via the Digital World!

KishibeIt can write them in and, of course, extract them.

KishibeWell, then, shall we begin? I'm going to steal allllll your secrets!

YuukoAhhh... Nnnnnnngh! Nnngaaaaaaaaahhhh!
